Pearl e/MERGE is the marriage of Korg's Wave Triggering Technology and Pearl's PUREtouch Electronic Pads to create an electronic drumming experience that is rivaled by no others. The Combination of these two music technologies is about the response and feel of the pads delivering sounds with dynamic musicality. The sensors in the head respond to the strike and response of the head while the Wave Triggering sensors activate the sound sample. Both information sources are flawlessly blended in the module with almost unmeasurable latency. Every tiny dynamic variance from the player's technique and area of the head struck is accurately produced from the module. Each drum pad includes tension rods allowing the player to adjust head tightness to achieve a desired feel. The PUREtouch Cymbal Pads are all multi-zoned pads with a very natural cymbal feel. The technology used allows for actuate blending between the zones. When the player chokes the cymbal the sound is not only cut but a sample is activated delivering the inherent harmonics of a traditional cymbal being choked.
e/MERGE Module (MDL-1)
Pearl has recorded the highest of fidelity sound samples from modern to vintage acoustic drums in a variety of sizes with very little processing. This delivers a very natural sound focusing on all the qualities of acoustic drums. In addition to the library of acoustic drum sounds the module is packed with sounds from korg's electronic percussion repertoire as well as a wide range of world and concert percussion.
Pearl created to MDL-1 module to be performance oriented in that it features useful functions that are easily accessed so the performer get right down to playing. 35 Present drum kits and library of 700 sounds allow the drummer to create a sound that fits the needs of the performance. 36 on board effects add texture and color to experience.
The Ambiance Slider is one of the most exciting features of the module. Information taken from a mix of the room and overhead mics during the recording process allows you to instantly add color, natural room reverb and live vibe to any acoustic set. This is easily adjusted during performance from the simplicity of the design.
A wide range of outputs (Stereo Master and 8 assignable direct outputs) and USB connectivity (2 ports Type B and Type A) as well as trigger and auxiliary inputs only adds to the functionality of e/MERGE in a performance situation.
