The Charvel San Dimas series guitars have been a mainstay in the world of shred guitars since the years of hair metal. This Pro Mod model is the same San Dimas you have come to love with a slim neck and top quality hardware to unleash your inner shred god.

Comfort Cut

While it's 'S' style body may not appear that different from a distance when you pick it up you really notice the changes. With comfort cuts every which way and some beautiful contours this guitar you really notice just how easy it is to play.

Thanks to its classic origins though it won't look out of place at any gig. So don't worry about rocking up to your next wedding gig with a guitar like this as both the sound and look are incredibly versatile.

Smooth Maple Neck

One of the main things that draws people in to the world of Charvel is just how easy their guitars are to play. With a quatersawn constructed maple neck that is neither too thin nor too thick you can dig in for powerful chords and shredding leads no problem.

Versatile Electronics

While this guitar is designed with the metal player in mind it is actually great for a wide range of different styles. With the industry standard Seymour Duncan JB and 59 pickups that can handle pretty much anything you will ever need to play.

They have vintage character and tonality all while staying remarkably clear under high gain so you can go between styles easily. No more chopping and changing guitars every other song just to fit the track.

Floyd Rose Tremolo

If you were a metal fan through the 80's and 90's you know how important this piece of hardware is to getting the right sound. Every other solo during that time contained some kind of dive bomb or flutter that can only be achieved with this kind of locking tremolo.

Because it is a locking tremolo system you don't have to worry about tuning anywhere near as much. It keeps your guitar in tune for much longer even when going crazy on the tremolo and even when it does go out you have micro tuners at the bridge to get it back in check quickly and easily.

The Charvel Story

Charvel guitars are the very embodiment of high-performance tone machines, and discerning players who prize superior sound and feel have turned to the company's finely crafted guitars as their weapons of choice for more than 30 years. From metal masters including Warren DeMartini and Jake E. Lee to instrumental fusion legends such as Allan Holdsworth and Shawn Lane, musician's musicians worldwide have long relied on Charvel for exceptional guitar design.

High-end "hot-rodded" appointments considered extraordinary on lesser instruments are standard features on most Charvel guitars. These include compound-radius fingerboards, exceptionally hot pickups designed to send amps into screaming overdrive, Floyd Rose bridge and tremolo systems, customized electronics, heavy-duty hardware and highly original (even outlandish) textural and graphic finishes.

Today, Charvel has redefined itself and rededicated itself to its long-held tradition of high performance with a whole new family of guitars—the Desolation series. These are striking new instruments with designs not previously seen in Charvel history but with all the high-end features the name is so prized for. The Desolation series ushers Charvel into a remarkable new age in which it offers more tonal, stylistic and value options than ever before to more guitarists than ever before, be they newcomers, novices or seasoned pros.

That devotion to tone, performance and innovation and to meeting the unique design needs of technically advanced guitarists is nothing new. It all dates back to Charvel's original home and formative years—Southern California in the late 1970s.

Charvel shares DNA and deep roots with Jackson guitars, and in the late 1970s it was Grover Jackson who built the first guitars bearing the Charvel name. Jackson had worked at Charvel's Guitar Repair, a small shop in Azusa, Calif., that specialized in hot-rodding traditional electric guitars, before he bought the company from founder Wayne Charvel in late 1978. Jackson quickly set about began building traditional-style electric guitars loaded with high-performance refinements, to which he applied the Charvel name. The guitars debuted in summer 1979 and earned steadily growing acclaim, especially among a flashy new early-'80s generation of dazzlingly talented Southern California guitarists.

In addition to those fine early Charvel instruments, Jackson soon embarked on a second line of guitars bearing his own name. But from those late-'70s days onward, Charvel forged its own distinctive identity and earned its own sterling reputation for producing hot-rodded-yet-classy "muscle car" guitars preferred by many of the world's most technically accomplished players, notably in the metal and fusion worlds.

In each era since its arrival—the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and right on through to today—Charvel has offered innovative and original guitar models with the very best in high-performance design and features. With the modern-era Desolation series, several remarkable artist models and the time-honored San Dimas and So-Cal models, Charvel continues to forge a very bright high-performance future for guitarists everywhere.
